Necromancy

Death Strike
  • The blow with which a DS is inflicted will make the half of the damages
  • DS chance to hit (succeed) is from 0 to 87,5%
  • Mana will be consumed even if the DS fails (misses)
  • If the target doesn't move, damage will be from 13 to 20
  • If the target does at least 5 steps, damage will be from 40 to 60
  • The damage has a minimum and a maximum that depends directly on the position of the attacker when he tracks and when he hits the target with a DS, greater is the distance, greater is the damage (considering the above cap). If the attacker is not tracking, the maximum damage is the lowest one ( 13 / 40 )
  • More consecutive DS add a bonus of 10 to the damage over the cap

That is, if a second Pain Spike is cast on a target after 4 seconds from the first one, the effect of the first will stop after 8 seconds, not 6.
  • Wither requires targets to be in Line of Sight. It is no longer possible to harm people inside houses with it.
  • Wither cast delay has been raised (slowed) by 0.25s.

As a direct consequence, items that give bonuses to Strength will raise hit points by a lower quantity, and spells such as Bless and Curse will have less effects on the target's hit points (strength variation remains unchanged though).

The base damage is the same for all players, and it's the spell's base damage (Magic Arrow: 10 + 1d4, Harm: 17 + 1d5, Fireball: 19 + 1d5, Lightning: 23 + 1d5), with bonuses given by Inscription, Int and SDI just like normal spells. Resistances apply, of course.

  • The delay for Healing via bandages has been changed. It is now always an integer, rounded down. This means that you can no longer heal at intervals such as 3.05 or 4.55 seconds. With 140 Dexterity for example it takes 4 seconds to use bandages, but it takes 5 at 139 Dexterity.
  • The delay for Healing other people via bandages is now (4 - (dex / 60)) seconds, rather lower than before. Add 5 seconds to this value if you're trying to resurrect someone.
  • Wonderous Scrolls of Power (+5) are no longer cursed.
  • Use Best Weapon Skill weapons will now always show the required skill.
  • Ghosts can now walk over normally blocking objects such as bagballs.
  • Hiryus and Lesser Hiryus are now aggressive.
  • Serado's resistances now raise proportional to the HPs lost. When near death his resistances will be 95x5.
  • Requesting a BOD when the backpack is full no longer forces you to wait the time required to get a new BOD.
  • Fixed Provocation delay: it is now 10 seconds if it succeeded, only 5 if it failed.
  • Stealthing with a heavy armor no longer keeps the player hidden forever.
  • Paralyze spell duration is now (EvalInt/10 - ResSpells/10) seconds, no longer 2 + (EvalInt/10 - ResSpells/10) seconds. This means that casting Paralyze on someone who has ResSpells equal or higher than the caster's EvalInt will yield no effect whatsoever, though mana will still be lost.
  • Night Sight is now based upon the target's Magery, not the Caster's. This means that casting Night Sight on someone with 0 Magery is useless.
  • Arch Cure and Mass Curse effect area has been reduced from 3 tiles to 2.
  • Mass Dispel effect area has been reduced from 8 tiles to 2.
  • Lightning, Chain Lightning, Energy Bolt and Explosion now do slightly more damage.
  • Earthquake now does more damage against NPCs.
  • Exorcised ghosts on Tokuno are no longer teleported to a black screen.
  • Doom bosses now use Detecting Hidden less frequently.
  • Champion spawn creatures in Ilshenar can now become Paragon. This does not apply to champions themselves.

  • Energy Vortices and Blade Spirits are now correctly autodispelled if there are more than 5 within a 5x5 tiles radius.
  • Champions other than Serado should no longer spawn in Tokuno.
  • Ancient Urn and Honorable Swords names have been fixed.
  • The number of Zoogi Fungus dropped by all solens has been aligned with OSI's. Solen Queen loots have also been lowered.
  • Bags of Sending and Bracelets of Binding can now hold only 30 charges. Crystal Balls of Pet Summoning can only hold 20. Any charges exceeding the cap will be given back as Powders of Translocation (placed in the same container the item is in) the first time someone doubleclicks it. Please note that if the item is on the ground, exceeding powders will also be dropped on the ground for all to grab.
  • Crystal Balls of Pet Summoning can no longer be used in any dungeon, on any facet (including Trammel). They can still be used anywhere outside though, including T2A (the Lost Lands).
  • Pets will now run towards the tamer when asked to Come and Follow if they are more than 5 tiles away.
  • Swing speed cap has been raised to one hit every 1.25 seconds (previously it was capped at one hit per second).


  • All Doom bosses can now detect hidden players within their range.
  • Monsters can now also cast the following spells: Curse, Feeblemind, Clumsy, Weaken, Paralyze, Poison, and Bless on themselves. Also, no monsters can now ever be interrupted when casting a spell.
  • The Valor virtue has been implemented. A Knight of Valor can activate an inactive champion spawn by targeting the Idol of the Champion on top of it. The Valor virtue may also be used on an active champion spawn to advance it one level (one red skull). It can only be used once per spawn. You can gain Valor points by killing champion spawn creatures (Ilshenar and Tokuno spawns included).
  • Champion spawns now work exactly like OSI. Only spawns in Ilshenar, Tokuno, and one random champion spawn out of the 5 inside Felucca dungeons, and only a random one out of the 12 in the Lost Lands will guarranteed to be active at all times. The others (including the 10 spawns in the Lost Lands that so far have always been inactive) can be activated by using Valor. WARNING: A reset of all spawns will be necessary to switch to this new system. Please do not challenge any spawn right before the upgrade, you will have to start it again from scratch afterwards.
  • SOPs +5 have also been added. All champion spawn monsters now have a 1 in 351 chance of dropping one, with a limit of 6 +5 SOPs per champion spawn. They can be duped with Justice in exactly the same way as +10/+15/+20 SOPs. Please note that nothing has changed in the way the +10/+15/+20 SOPs are distributed.
  • All creatures' loots have been updated to match OSI. Most creatures now yield better loots, with a few notable exceptions such as Barracoon, Neira, and Blood Elementals.
  • Champion skulls are now given to a player picked at random from the top attacker list, no longer to the one who dealt the most damage. Skulls will also be Cursed (i.e. not insurable) from now on.
  • All magic weapons (either through enhancing, runic crafting, monster looting, etc.) can now spawn with the total damage split between all resistance types, whereas previously they would always spawn with 100% physical damage. This counts as one magic property. Weapons with this property will be hued according to the damage type with the highest value (the so called neon effect: neon green for poison, neon blue for cold, etc.). The higher the value, the deeper the hue.
  • Monster titles are now available. You can obtain them by slaying enough monsters in champion spawn areas. A list of such titles is available here on stratics. The first title is awarded at 300 kills, the second at 600, the third at 800. The decay rate is 90 points per day. Harrower titles work differently. Firstly, they are only awarded to players who make it in the top attackers list. Secondly, they never decay, ever. Once you have one, you can only go higher. Thirdly, the type of title awarded depends on the total number of other titles you have at 900 points or higher. For example, to obtain the Champion of Evil title you will need to have all 6 other champion titles at 900 points or more when you kill the Harrower. Note that killing the Harrower and then gaining points in the other titles will not work. Titles can be toggled on and off by clicking on yourself and choosing the last option.
  • Repair Deeds are now in. You can create one by choosing Repair Item in the craft menu, and targeting a blank scroll. Repair Deeds are available for Blacksmiths, Tailors, Tinkers, Carpenters and Fletchers.
  • Shields crafted with Blacksmithy will no longer have a 15% bonus to resistances if exceptional. This bonus will still apply to armors. WARNING: This fix will remove all such resistance bonuses from all existing shields.
  • Every creature hit by a Paralyzing Blow will now be immune to it for 8 seconds. All Paralyzing Blows attempted during this time span will result in loss of mana but no effect.
  • It's possible once again to recall or use a moongate to escape a murderer as long as you don't attack them first.
  • The Armor Ignore damage will no longer be based only on the physical part of the weapon damage.
  • Energy Vortices now have a small chance of appearing as a llama.
  • Ancient Wyrms can now poison on hit.
  • Serpentine Dragons no longer gain control of pets.
  • Skeletal Dragons and Serpentine Dragons now have a 20% chance of dealing triple damage to pets.
  • All undead, elemental and a few other creatures are now immune to Bleed Attacks.
  • Arcane Daemons can now use Concussion Blow, Gargoylee Enforcers and Abyssmal Horror gained Whirlwind Attack, Shadow Knights now have both ConcussionBlow and CrushingBlow at their disposal, while Moloch can now use both Concussion Blow and Whirlwind.

  • The following creatures can now auto-dispel (i.e. they have a 10% chance of automatically dispelling a summon when attacked): Meer Mages, Meer Eternals, Impalers, Fleshrenderers, the Harrower, its tentacles, and Lord Oaks. Barracoon is the only one left with a 100% chance.

  • Virtues work now exactly as on OSI. Most notably, Justice decreases a lot faster, and you can no longer go past the Knight level (the maximum number of blue dots is now 30, not 40).
  • You can no longer overcome sex restrictions on armors by wearing them while under Vampiric Embrace form.
  • The Night's Kiss sprite has been fixed (it was reversed).
  • Slayer weapons no longer give opposing type monsters a 20% damage bonus.

  • Text spoken by ghosts of players with GM Spirit Speak will now appear normal to everyone.
  • The Witch Apprentice quest now gives 2000~2200 gp as additional reward.
  • The command prefix has been changed from [ to ] because the new client (version 4.0.11a) handles it differently.


  • The Lamp Room puzzle is in, and the Inquisitor's Resolution and Lamp Post artifacts are now available! You can find out all about it here. Please note that any attempt to remain alive inside the Lamp Room past the 3 minutes will be considered cheating and will lead to an account ban. OSI has the same policy.
  • Necromancer's Exorcism spell. You must be within 18 tiles from a Champion Spawn to cast it. All ghosts within 5 tiles from the caster will be relocated to a random shrine on the same facet. Fellow faction, guild, alliance or party members, as well as players who have a corpse on the same sector, are not affected.
  • Unicorn ability. If their rider becomes poisoned and falls below 40 hit points, they will cure them. Once they cure their rider, they cannot cure them for another hour. This cure is always successful, regardless of the level of poison.
  • Ki-rin ability: Ki-rins cast a lightning bolt on any creature or player that brings its rider below 30 hit points, dealing 35-100 (random) damage that cannot be resisted. They may only do this once per hour.
  • Large weapon BODs (check out Tower of Roses for a list of prizes).
  • Necromancer NPC.
  • Concussion Blow: It no longer deals 10-40 random damage; the damage is now based on the difference between the defender's max hits and max mana, as well as the difference between current hits and current mana. In other words, it's most effective against those who are in good health and whore reserves of mana are low, or vice versa.
  • Mortal Strike: If used on an already wounded target, the timer will no longer be reset.
  • Bleed Attack: Necromancers under Lich Form or Wraith Form are now immune to Bleed Attacks.
  • Paralyzing Blow: It is not possible to use parablow on a frozen/paralyzed target. Should you do so, a message stating that "the target is already frozen" will appear, but no mana will be lost. On top of that, the effect vanishes as soon as the target takes damage. This means that from now on using parablow on an already 'parablowed' target will show a "target is already frozen" message, it will inflict the normal weapon hit damage, and finally it will free the target, in this order.
  • Pet skills are no longer capped at 100 even if they were higher when it was first tamed.
  • Enhancing an item using a sewing kit while having an ancient smithy hammer equipped will no longer consume one ancient charge.
  • The Tear Kite Shield prices have been tweaked to match OSI. Most notably, they now sell for 37 gps, not 75.
  • Colored anvils received as BOD prizes are now given in form of a hued deed.
  • All spells now consume only one Arcane Clothing charge, regardless of their circle.
  • Exorcism scrolls can now be crafted with Inscription. Some other inscription skill/mana requirements have also been corrected.
  • Mana leeched by a necromancer while under Wraith Form is no longer only added to the necromancer's mana pool, it is now also subtracted from the victim's pool.
  • Exceptional Runebooks and Spellbooks can now have a maker's mark.
  • Paragon creatures no longer flee when low on health.
  • It is no longer possible to skin corpses on Trammel if you don't have looting rights.
  • The Barding Difficulty algorithm has been tweaked to match OSI (it is now slightly more difficult to use bard abilities against creatures).

  • The Harrower will no longer always spawn inside dungeon Destard, it will now spawn in a random dungeon on Felucca. Doubleclicking on the black gate inside the star room will teleport you to the correct dungeon's entrance.
  • Animal Lore will now also show the creature's barding difficulty.
  • The barding difficulty has been capped at 160. Because of this, some monsters that were previously all but unbardable (i.e. the Harrower) now have a small chance of being affected, albeit with reduced effect.
  • It is now possible to steal blessed items from NPC chests. Spawns will no longer be blocked by those unstealable blessed spellbooks.
  • The Wither spell can now target hidden players as well as visible ones.

Fixed a bug which allowed players to craft Spellbooks with intensities too high, due to stratics reporting wrong data. Max intensity is now 75%, not 80%. Here are the caps:

Spellbooks properties whose intensities are over those caps will be lowered to the new maximum value.
  • NPCs now give BODs (Bulk Order Deeds) regularly, even if your skill is very low.
  • It’s no longer possible to avoid being paralized in PVP casting spells that don’t freeze your movement, like Consacrate Weapon.
  • If you throw a bola having your backpack full (125 items), weapon and shield will no longer fall on the ground, but will drop into your backpack, exceeding 125 items limit. It will not be possible to put other items in your backpack, until the number of the items drops below 125.
  • Peacemaking delay is now 5 seconds if you succeed, and 10 seconds if you fail (until now it was always 10 seconds).
  • Provocation delay is now 10 seconds if you succeed, and 5 seconds if you fail (until now it was always 10 seconds).
  • White Wyrms will no longer eat gold, they will eat only meat.

  • Energy Vortices and Blade Spirits will now be limited to a total of six (6) per five by five (5x5) square of tiles centered around each Energy Vortex or Blade Spirits. Should the total number of Energy Vortices and Blade Spirits in an area exceed this limit Energy Vortices and Blade Spirits in the area will be selected at random and dispelled until the limit is no longer exceeded. No mana or reagents will be returned to the mage whose Energy Vortex of Blade Spirit was dispelled
  • Energy Vortices and Blade Spirits will now take two control slots.
  • Energy Vortices and Blade Spirits now have double the hit points
  • Blade Spirits now take 3/5 the time to cast as they used to
  • Heal now heals 50% more damage when used on a target other than the caster. This should benefit those who crossheal other players, and people who heal their controlled summons or pets

  • Energy Vortices get a massive boost to their dispel resist.After some tests on OSI, it will be changed as following: with magery 120 you will have only 75% to dispel, with 110 50%, and with 100 25%.

Spellbooks
Now spellbooks can have some new properties, and they are easier to craft.
With 80 magery you can obtain 1 property, with 90 magery 2 properties, with 100 magery 3 properties. (These are the maximum numbers of properties you can obtain)
The intensity of the properties will remain the same (until 80%), whether you have 100 magery, or 120; but the more magery you have, the more likely you’ll obtain 3 properties. So, with 100 magery you can obtain the same properties obtained with 120, but the chance is lower.
New properties are: Lower Mana cost, Lower Reagent Cost, Mana regeneration (this one with a special cap at 1: there will not be spellbook with mr 2). Furthermore, you can obtain a slayer property, which allows you to make double damage (only spell damage) against some groups of creatures.
